Learn how to beautifully merge the medium of photography with the ancient art of painting with beeswax.

Join Philadelphia artist Leah Macdonald and Athena Petra Tasiopoulos for two days of intensive instruc- tion to learn the basics of combining photography and encaustic mixed media.

You will learn:

• The history of the encaustic medium
• How to paint with beeswax
• How to combine encaustics with photography
• Techniques for creating surface textures and mark-making
• and you will receive an introduction to painting with oils and paintsticks

Class includes:

• Supplies to create 5 encaustic pieces (up to 16×20″)
• 2 wooden panels for mounting prints of your photographs for painting
• Two 6-hour days of instruction
